The geo-thermal mud pools in Waiotapu apparently have great healing qualities because of their rich mineral content – but given that they were practically boiling, we didn’t get in!
The good news for the people of neighbouring Rotorua though, is that they’ve literally found a way to ‘bottle it and sell it’. Now there are numerous beauty products (including mud masks, soaps and moisturisers) that have been created out of what feels like ‘primordial swamp’ – all of which bring in additional money to the area.
And thanks to the wonders of the modern world when it comes to transportation, many of these mud products are even available through business giant Amazon!
